Match No 8: Manang
Marshyangdi Club (MMC) Vs Brigade Boys Club (BBC)
Certainly, the entertaining match. Defending “A”
division league champion MMC took on the last years
“B” division champion BBC. It was the competitive
match, far better than expected. As BBC was thrashed 5
– 0 in their opening match by MPC and many people
thought the same result will follow with MMC. But BBC
gave the MMC a tough resistance and it took 70 minute
for MMC to break the BBC defense. It was a moment of
magic from the prolific striker Basanta Thapa from 25
yard to stun the better performing BBC. BBC really
played well than MMC but the result went to the
defending champion’s way.
Score: MMC 1 – 0 BBC
Scorer: Basanta Thapa (MMC)
Possession: MMC (50%) BBC (50%)
Man of the Match: Prem Bahadur Rana Magar (BBC)
Match No 9: Mahendra
Police Club (MPC) Vs Tribhuwan Army Club (TAC)
Certainly the match went as expected. About 10000 fans
turned out to rangasala to witness the match between
police and army. Army had to win the match to forget
their lost to Three Star on the opening match. So they
attack with the purpose of just only winning. But the
experienced police side with full of national players
was better side than army. A superb strike from out side
the d box by Ramesh Budhathoki sealed the victory for
the police. Ramesh was put through by Hari Khadka and
Ramesh broke the Army’s offside trap and unleash the
thundering rught footer from outside the D box to stun
the Army custodian Chhannu Ram. Certainly the goal will
be the candidate for the Goal of the season.
Score: MPC 1 – 0 TAC
Scorer: Ramesh Budhathoki (MPC)
Possession: MPC (60%) TAC (40%)
Man of the Match: Dipak Paudyal (MPC)
Match No 10: New Road
Team (NRT) Vs Boys Union Club (BUC)
As everybody is hoping for the NRT win, but BUC have
different ideas for the game. BUC played defensive game
and try to score goal on counter attack. And that paid
off with a couple of goal form the BUC paceful striker
Sunil Subedi. He scored both goals for BUC on the
through ball from Utsav KC. Both goals are similar to
one another with the beautifully crafted through ball
from Utasv KC and Sunil used his pace to get pass the
NRT defense to score both goals. Absolutely a cracker
game.
Score: BUC 2 – 0 NRT
Scorer: Sunil Subedi (2)
Possession: NRT (60%) BUC (40%)
Man of the Match: Sunil Subedi (BUC)
Match No 11: Three
Star Club (TSC) Vs Kathmandu Club (KC)
Kathmandu Club of history against TSC that KC have drawn
all the previous games played with TSC in the league in
past years. So this year TSC is the main contender for
the title and they are praying that KC won’t repeat
the history again. They took Lead in 20 minute through
Surendra Tamang. But in 45 minute National team
custodian couldn’t judge a long ranger from Madhav KC
of Kathmandu Club and resulted on the back of the net.
After Kathmandu Club got the equalizer they could not
defend so Janak Singh made it 2 – 1 for the TSC on the
injury time of first half. So the history didn’t
repeat for KC but they certainly gave a hard time for
TSC defenders.
Score: TSC 2 – 1 KC
Scorer: Madhav KC (KC) Surendra Tamang, Janak Singh (TSC)
Man of the Match: Janak Singh (TSC)
Match No 12: Friends
Club (FC) Vs Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT)
After RCT draw their first game of the league with
Sankata, they started the match with different
intension. But both RCT and FC cannot attack with
purpose. Ball was mostly on the middle of the field.
Both clubs seems like they are afraid of going forward.
So one of the boring game of the league. Sajan Shrestha
of RCT played well and his shots hit bar on two
occasion. Binod Shshi got yellow card on top if his
yellow card on last match’s yellow. So he will miss
next match.
Score: RCT 0 – 0 FC
Man of the Match: Sajan Shrestha (RCT)
Match no 13: Sankata
Club Vs Jawlakhel Youth Club (JYC)
JYC, the multi rupees side of the JYC have to settle
down 1 – 1 draw
with Sankata. Sankata were far more better side than JYC.
The result would have been different if they couldn’t
have missed penalty. Raj Kumar KC missed penalty for
Sankata. But Sankata were able to keep pressure in JYC.
But it was JYC who scored first. Gaurav Thapa scored on
his second goal on second match for JYC and They took
the lead. But Sankata free forward for the equalizer and
they got it through Jibesh Pandey. He scored the superb
header from a cross from Sunil Tuladhar. Certainly it is
the most busiest match for the referee. The match played
on high temper and all the players involved on the brawl
just before half time and referee have to show TWO red
cards for Jay Thapa (JYC) and Pravin Manandhar (Sankata).
Score: Sankata 1 – 1 JYC
Scorer: Gaurav Thapa (JYC) Jibesh Pandey (Sankata)
Man of the Match: Gaurav Thapa (JYC)
