Shyam Thapa ready for ANFA
Could he be best person for Nepalese Youth Teams?

Shyam Thapa ANFA is all set to sign Shyam Thapa as the coach for youth teams of Nepal. Shyam Thapa is expected to be in Nepal at the end of May. ANFA said that the initial contract will be for four years and Thapa will be given charge of Under 20 and Under 17 footballers.

In an email interview Shyam Thapa said that he was always ready to work with ANFA. Praising Ganesh Thapa as an impressive and talented footballer of his time, Shyam Thapa said, “He knows how to raise the standard of football. He has got good links with AFC and FIFA which will definitely help in developing football in Nepal.”

Thapa is  an Indian footballer of Nepali origin and believes that political non – interference and motivation are the keys in the development of the sport.

He was member of Indian National football team that won the bronze medal at the Asian Games held in Bangkok in 1970. His last Asian Games was in Tehran in 1974. He came to Nepal to participate in Tribhuwan Challenge Shield in 1977 and helped found Boys Union Clubs, which at present is in the Martyr's League “A” division.
