Match No 41: Mahendra
Police Club (MPC) Vs Sankata Club (SC)
It was a tough match as both teams were unbeaten in the
ML in this season and the pressure really on SC to get
point to keep their hope alive for a place in the super
six. But it was MPC who took the lead through Ramesh
Budhathoki. Ramesh headed home the superb cross from
Ananta Thapa. It was Ramesh again in 40th
minute and it was Ananta again the provider. MPC were 2
– 0 up until the half time. After the break MPC strike
again. This time it was Hari Khadka who scored after the
superb play in the midfield by Ananta Thapa to make the
score 3 – 0. Jibesh Pandey got the consolation on the
dying minute of the game for SC. But it was a superb
team effort by MPC and Ananta Thapa in particular was in
his best form.
Score:
MPC 3 – 1 SC
Scorer:
Jibesh Pandey (SC), Ramesh Budhathoki (2), Hari Khadka (MPC)
Possession:
SC (40%) MPC (60%)
Man of the Match:
Ananta Thapa (MPC)
Match No 42: Three
Star Club (TSC) Vs Friends Club (FC)
MPC put pressure on TSC after they defeat SC 3 – 1.
TSC was on fire since the start of the game knowing that
only win will keep them head to head with MPC on the top
of the table. But TSC forward combination of Surendra
Tamang and Santosh Sahukhala cannot break the FC defence
lead by veteran Ramesh Byanjankar. Surendra Tamang of
TSC missed more than 6 clear goal scoring opportunities
to upset the TSC fans. But a very good result for FC as
they now seems to be in super six. Despite of no goals
in the match, it was a entertaining match. Bijay Gurung
of TSC was brilliant on the left side of the midfield
and he created many opportunities for TSC strikers to
score but the strikers failed to capitalize the chances.
Score:
FC 0 – 0 TSC
Possession:
FC (40%) TSC (60%)
Man of the Match:
Bijay Gurung (TSC)
Match No 43: New Road
Team (NRT) Vs Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT)
The match was boring but the only good part of the game
was the spectacular goal by Harihar Thapa of RCT on the
dying minute of first half. He headed home from outside
the D box after the cross from RCT defender Binod Shahi
from their own half. The ball was on the middle of the
pitch most of the time and it was totally the game of
defense where the strikers failed to spark. Good win for
RCT to lift them off from the bottom of the table.
Score:
RCT 1 – 0 NRT
Scorer:
Harihar Thapa
Possession:
RCT (50%) NRT(50%)
Man of the Match:
Binod Shahi (RCT)
Match No 44:
Tribhuwan Army Club (TAC) Vs Kathmandu Club (KC)
After loss against the minnow BBC the pressure is on KC to
get some point out off this game to get a step closer
for the survival in the ML top division and their
strategy was clear that they are playing defensive game
and hit TAC on counter attack. But their strategy
didn’t work well as TAC took lead on 4th
minute of the game through Chakra Tamang. He guided the
ball on the net after the scramble on the 6 yard box and
KC defense were unable to clear the ball to make 1 – 0
to TAC. And it was 1 – 0
until the 65th minute. On the 65th
minute libero of KC Chandra Bajracharya scored own goal
to give 2 – 0 advantage to TAC. And it was Hari Mahato
who scored the third for army and Mahendra Khawas scored
the fourth to make the game out of reach for KC. with
this victory TAC moved up to fourth place on the table.
Score:
TAC 4 – 0 KC
Scorer:
Chakra Tamang, Hari Mahato, Mahendra Khawas, Chandra
Bajracharya (OG)
Possession:
TAC (75%) KC (25%)
Man of the Match:
Chakra Tamang (TAC)
Match No 45: Mahabir
Club (MC) Vs Boys Union Club (BUC)
This match is also the battle for the survival and both
teams know that win can be the safer for the survival
and it was BUC that took the lead. Utsav KC beat the
offside trap of MC to score the first goal and after 2
minute Prabal karki of MC scored a spectacular goal from
35 yard to make score 1 each. On the last minute of the
match BUC’s suraj Khaling scored the goal to lead 2
– 1 with only a injury minute to play. But on the
dying seconds of injury time Prabal Karki scored from 20
yard free kick to level the game and to get 1 valuable
point for MC. Totally entertaining match with good flow
of attacking football especially from BUC.
Score:
MC 2 – 2 BUC
Scorer:
Utsav KC, Suraj Khaling (BUC), Prabal Karki (2) MC
Possession:
RCT (40%) MC (60%)
Man of the match:
Utsav KC (BUC)
