Summary: Nepal, while dominating possession and having a host
of chances, were only able to put two goals past a very defensive
Bhutanese team that was committed to keeping the score line
respectable. Nirajan Rayamajhi headed home a Deepak Lama cross in
the 14th minute to give Nepal the lead. Nepal would go on to have
around a dozen more shots on goal, but they amounted to nothing.
Midway through the second half, Bhutan almost tied the match but
Singh was able to diffuse the situation. Kumar Thapa shot a 20 yard
bullet near the end to double Nepal's lead. |
