Rana gripes about Cops
08 August 2003: Geeta Rana
has filed a case against ANFA (Thapa) saying that the
ongoing Martyr's League "A" division
is invalid as they allowed MPC to take part in the competition.
The complaint is that MPC received direct entry in to
the Martyrs League and were not made to compete
in the "C" and "B" divisions like
all other clubs usually do. Most "B" and "C"
division clubs as well as some "A" division
sides are supporting Rana in this case. Rana's Galaxy
Club did not participate in the Martyr's League
even though it was an "A" division side.
In a complaint to NepalSport.com, an official from
a "C" division club said, "We have
been playing "C" division for almost 30 years.
Why did ANFA allow MPC to play in the "A" division
directly?! Although MPC is a great side, rules are rules!
MPC should also start from "C" league and make
their way up."
"C" and "B" division play to begin
soon
08 August 2003: The Martyr's League
"C" division will
commence on August 24, in Kathmandu. ANFA have asked interested
clubs in Nepal to join the league. Over 50 clubs are expected
to take part in the tournament. Four teams will be promoted
to the "B" division and they will immediately
take part in the "B" division league, which
will begin right after the "C" division tournament
concludes.
