Madhu takes the knife
28 June  2004:
National team libero and RCT captain Madhu Karki operated his right leg successfully. He removed an iron rod which was inserted in the lower part of his right leg. He was injured three years ago in Nirajan Memorial Cup football tournament while playing against Police. After he was injured an iron rod was inserted in his right leg and he played for 2 years with the rod. RCT Manager Raju Shahi told NepalSport.com that Madhu will be ready to play in four months. Ex-national team player passes
28 June  2004:
Sarbagyabir Singh Tuladhar, Ex-national team striker, passed away on Tuesday. He represented Nepal in 2037 BS and played in the "Aga Khan Gold Cup" in Bangladesh. He played his club football for RCT. (Dinesh Thapa)

15 June  2004:

100th yellow card
11 June  2004:
Upendra Man Singh of Three Star was shown the 100th yellow card of this year's Martyr's League by FIFA referee Gyani Raja Shrestha. He was shown the card for time wasting in the 84th minute of the match while Three Star were leading 1 - 0. (Dinesh Thapa)

Indian coach arrives
09 June  2004:
Nepal born former Indian football star Shyam Thapa has arrived in Kathmandu to sign with ANFA as the coach of the national youth teams. He was at Dasarath Rangasala yesterday with Ganesh Thapa. (Dinesh Thapa)

Dongol suspended
09 June  2004:
ANFA handed a 3 match ban to Kailash Dongol of Sankata Club after his unsporting behavior to Pralay Rajbhandari of NRT. With only 3 matches to go and a Super Six birth unlikely, Dongol may have played his last game. ANFA previously handed 3 match bans to Pravin Manandhar (SSC), Manoj (Jay) Thapa (JYC), Rajesh Shahi (MMC) and Deepak Limbu (RCT). (Dinesh Thapa)

Nirajan mulling his options
06 June  2004:
Malik Riaz Hai Naveed tells us that Nirajan Rayamajhi  was on the verge of completing a transfer to a second division German club, but the club got relegated and now he is looking to find another second division side to join. If he cannot find a suitable outfit, he is considering playing in Bangladesh. Nirajan currently plays for a German 4th division side SC Union Hamburg.  

Manandhar out for the season?
30 May  2004:
Sankata goalkeeper Ujjwal Manandhar  may have played his last match in this years Martyr's League after colliding with teammate Binod Lama in the loss to MMC. He spent the night at Bir Hospital and was discharged today. Doctors have asked him to rest for the next two months. (Dinesh Thapa)

ANFA in the hunt for foreign coach
21 May  2004:
Before leaving for the annual FIFA general meetings, Ganesh Thapa told reporters that ANFA is looking for a foreign coach for the national side. Shyam Thapa will take care of youth teams. “We are in talks with a German and other foreign coaches ”,  said the recent AFC Distinguished Service Award winner. (Dinesh Thapa)

Nepal to participate in women's tourny
21 May  2004:
ANFA selected 18 players for the upcoming AFC U 19 Women’s Championship to be held in China from May 26 to June 6. Sixteen teams are participating in the AFC U 19 Women’s Championship. They are placed in four groups and Nepal is in Group D with North Korea, Thailand and Uzbekistan. (Dinesh Thapa)

Gyawali smacks own fan
16 May  2004:
RCT player Ramesh Gyawali beat an ardent RCT fan at the stadium after his match against Boys Union. After Gyawali was substituted by RCT coach the fan began jeering him for his poor play.  Gyawali flipped the supporter the middle finger and after the match Gyawali went to the stand and beat the fan with a helmet. ANFA officials say that they are going to take action against Gyawali. (Dinesh Thapa)

ANFA goes after Shyam Thapa
16 May  2004:
ANFA is set to sign Shyam Thapa as the coach of Nepali youth teams. Shyam Thapa would take care of the Under 17 and Under 20 sides. ANFA President Ganesh Thapa told Nepalsport.com’s Dinesh Thapa, “We are almost done and by the end of May he will be here.”
