gets easy road to World Cup

Nepal
will face Guam in the preliminary round of the Asian World
Cup qualifiers. The winner will qualify for the main
qualifying round which will consist of 32 Asian nations.
The games will be played on a home and away format.

Nepal
lost to South Korea 0 -7 thus bringing an end to Nepal's
dismal Asian Cup qualifying campaign. Nepal failed to win
a single point or score a single goal in six games.
Tushal, Saraswoti, Kalika & Boudha promoted; Four
clubs relegated
22 October 2003:
Tushal Youth Club, Saraswoti Youth Club, Kalika Mahavir
Club and Boudha Football Club all qualified for the
Martyr's League "B" division after winning their
respective groups in the "C" division. On the other end
of the spectrum, Bishnu Devi Club, Dhakre Youth Club,
Shanti Youth Club and Three Star Young were all relegated
on a final day of action that saw very suspicious
scorelines that indicated widespread match fixing in the
relegation battles.
Respectable
showing

Nepal
lost to Vietnam, but made its best showing in the Asian
Cup qualifiers by only allowing two goals.
Vietnam
shocks Korea
20 October 2003: Vietnam
pulled off one of the greatest upsets in Asian football
history by defeating South Korea 1 - 0 in the Asian Cup
qualifiers. The same Vietnamese side lost to South Korea 5
- 0 only a month ago. Nepal faces Vietnam tomorrow.

pasted, yet again
19 October 2003:
Oman were
6 - 0 winners over Nepal in the first game of the second
leg of the Asian Cup qualifiers.
Singh
rejoins team
18 October 2003: Long
time number one goalkeeper Upendra Man Singh has rejoined
Nepal's national team for the Asian Cup qualifiers in
Oman. Singh replaces Ujwal Manandhar.
Mulmi
sacked; Thapa promoted
12 October 2003: Krishna
Thapa will takeover the national team head coaching duties
from Maheswor Mulmi, who has been widely criticized for
Nepal's abysmal performance in the first leg of the Asian
Cup qualifiers in South Korea.
Runaways
replaced
08 October 2003:
Anil
Adhikari, Madhu Karki and Narottam Gautam will replace
the three missing players in the second leg of the Asian
Cup qualifiers.
