Disgraceful Nepal concedes record 16 goals!
29 September 2003:
Traumatized by events off the field, Nepal conceded a record 16 goals to South Korea in their last Asian Cup game in South Korea. The previous record was set by China when they scored 12 goals against Nepal in 1987.

Crushing loss, but spirited display
28 September 2003:
Any hopes of reaching the Asian Cup were dashed as Vietnam spanked Nepal 5 - 0. Despite the lopsided score line, Nepal played extremely well. Goalkeeping once again was the major weakness for the Gurkhalis. 

Nepal gets trounced
28 September 2003:
Oman clobbered Nepal 7 - 0 in the first Asian Cup qualifying game. The game was over by the 6th minute when Oman hit their third goal.

Singh gives national team the cold shoulder
22 September 2003:
Upendra Man Singh decided that the future was more important than the present and decided to attend an AFC coaching seminar in Malaysia instead of playing for the national team in the upcoming Asian Cup qualifiers.

Nepal misses out on youth tournaments
22 September 2003:
Because of security concerns due to the Maoist insurgency, Nepal lost its bid to host the Asian U20 and U17 qualifiers. Dhaka, Bangladesh will host the U20 qualifiers while New Delhi, India will host the U16 tournament.

More teams qualify
22 September 2003:
Boudha Club, Samajik Club, Swayambhu Club, King Kong Sports Club and Yellow Star Club have all qualified for the Martyr's League "C" division. These five clubs, plus Pako Youth Club, Samakhusi Youth Club and Kalika Youth Club will be joined by two more clubs that have yet to qualify.

In the ongoing Martyr's League "C" division qualifying tournament, Pako Youth Club, Samakhusi Youth Club and Kalika Youth Club have all qualified for the "C" division proper.
